Walnut House
In Progress
Residential Rennovation
2000 Square Feet
Vancouver, BC
Walnut House is the transformation of a dated Vancouver home into a forever home for a young couple planning for the future. While the house offered enough square footage, much of the space very dated and underutilized, lacking the functionality needed for everyday life. The focus going forward is on improving flow, creating purposeful storage, and rethinking key living spaces to better support both family and working from the home.

Before

Design Direction
The goal is to create a home that will age well and continue to feel relevant years from now. Rich walnut cabinetry and custom millwork provide warmth and character throughout the home, while a palette of soft neutrals, natural stone, and textured materials keeps the spaces calm and inviting.
The overall aesthetic sits somewhere between warm minimalism and contemporary organic design with clean lines and elevated detailing balancing lush textures. Storage is integrated wherever possible, allowing the architecture and materials to take the lead rather than visual clutter. Every design decision was guided by one principle: creating a home that feels refined without being sterile, and beautiful without sacrificing practicality.
